His solution? The RE: CHARGE café.
Created in collaboration with ergonomic workspace firm Humanscale, the café appears to do exactly what it says on the tin: to allow a place to ‘recharge mind, body and devices’. Bracher explains, ‘We are offering an environment that is designed to retune your body’s clock and to provide an opportunity to experience some of the latest technologies and products we at Humanscale are exploring.’

The Das Haus installation is an annual highlight of imm Cologne, the high-end residential furniture fair held in Germany. As its name suggest, Das Haus is an opportunity for a design studio to explore new possibilities for residential design. Each year, the chosen designer sets out to tap into the zeitgeist – as with Sebastian Herkner’s open and hospitable edition last year, which seemed to anticipate rising anti-immigration sentiment, or Louise Campbell’s version in 2014, which expressed the growing trend towards nesting and hygge.

The designer has revealed some intriguing renderings of his Das Haus installation, which will debut at IMM Cologne in January. A popular feature at the German trade show since 2012, Das Haus – Interiors on Stage is a 200-square-metre installation on the show floor. Each year a different designer is invited to construct this space to represent innovative residential concepts, using materials, colours, furnishings and other accessories of their choosing.
